Hairdorables Collectible Surprise Dolls Review

At the moment you can collect 36 dolls that belong to Series 1. The main “girl” in the squad is called Noah. Each doll comes in three different styles so basically there are 12 dolls that were based on girls from YouTube series, Hairdorables. The name has a significant meaning for the appearance of the dolls so it is all about their hair and different hairstyles but the same motto “Big Hair Don’t Care”.

They all come in a package that is a surprise box so until you unwrap the box you would not know which doll you are actually going to get. In order for the Hairdorable to be styled properly the box contains other 10 surprise accessories that go with each doll’s unique style and talent. These accessories are different but mainly include stickers, comb, shoes, hair accessories or fashion related.

The surprise doll with its accessories comes in a great box and kids really love unboxing these toys. The box on the back contains info about what are the 11 surprises inside. There are icons that represent that there is a doll in outfit, a collector list, a comb, shoes, 4 stickers, surprise accessory 1, surprise accessory 2 and a signature card. Just below them, there are simple instructions in drawings that describe how to open the box by first pulling, then peeling and finally revealing.

On the front of the box, there is a sign that says Pull to open. The box is mainly in violet color and it shows some of the dolls that you might reveal inside the box. Again the box highlights that there are 11 surprises and 36 collectible dolls. The sides of the box are also colorful because there is a picture of some of the dolls with colorful and long hair.

Kids will definitely like the feeling of opening this box and it is super easy for them to do it by grabbing and pulling the yellow tab that says “Pull to open”. When you open the box it actually opens in like three parts. The middle part is like setting and comes in a different theme that corresponds to the outfit and the style of the doll. There is a setting of a bedroom, a dressing-room, beach, a stage and many more. When you open the box there is a collector list with all the dolls in pictures and their names so you can mark each of the dolls that you get or it is already there in your collection. As we said at the beginning each of the 12 dolls comes in three different styles.

On one side of the box, there are four smaller boxes that are labeled with numbers (one to four) and on the other side, there is one bigger box with a sign “Stop –Open me last” a question mark and a silhouette of the secret doll. The box is pretty big and can be kept to be used later as a closet i.e. playset for the dolls. This will avoid some of the package plastic waste since the box is pretty big somewhat the size of a shoebox.

Kids will enjoy pulling the blind bags from the four smaller boxes. It is simple and safe for them to do it. One sticker that is always there is the phone sticker that you have to peel, fold and use it of course. Another thing that is always there is a cute comb with a ribbon that comes in different colors and with different stickers if you want to decorate it. The first box usually carries the name -Just my style. The second box usually contains surprise shoes or boots for the doll. They come in different styles and colors usually bright appealing neon colors.

Each of the blind boxes carries the different title, for example- Love is in the hair, There’s more in hair, Queen of hair, etc. They actually represent fun hair-themed puns. The third and fourth box contains some kind of accessory and a sticker. Finally, when you are ready with all the four boxes you are ready to open the bigger box and check out the surprise doll. The box inside is colorful and usually resembles a closet with painted clothes on it.

The dolls are around 5 inches in size. They have long soft hair in different trendy colors. The dolls have different skin tones from light to dark. The doll can move its head from side to side as well as its arms and legs. The doll can be seated and can stand independently. They have wide faces with expressive large eyes. The head is a little bigger and the body is tiny but it seems that this look is rather popular these days. The arms and legs are made of rubber which is great because it is easily bendable and can be put in many different positions for an even greater number of options for play. The hair of the dolls is their mark of significance and that’s why they are actually called Hairdorables. Their hair can be straight, wavy, loose curls or super curly hair in many super trendy colors.

The hair reaches the doll’s feet. They are dressed in an outfit that can be removed. The outfit is made of fabric that uses Velcro for convenient changing. The best thing if you have more than one of these 36 collectible dolls is that the outfits can be mixed and matched. The outfits vary from skirts, shorts, tops to dresses. The shoes are also interchangeable and fit to any of the 36 dolls. If you remove the clothes of the doll there is a painted one-piece swimsuit. All the accessories are with good quality and especially the hair of the doll. In this box there is a signature card as well that tells you the name of the doll, its favorite color, and claim to fame that refers to its different style and the doll’s motto. The mottos are really nice and can be an inspiration for the kids.

Although the doll is around 5 inches tall and larger than their competitors L.O.L. dolls the accessories are pretty tiny and therefore this toy is not recommended for kids less than 3 years old. The toy’s manufacturer Just Play according to the small pieces contained in the package states that the toy is for ages 3 and above. Yet most of the customers who use the toy consider and we also share the opinion that 3 years old may be young for this toy, especially because of the long and glamorous hair and we are all aware that many 3-year-olds still have the habit of sucking things or putting things in their mouth so we would agree with the ones who state that this toy attracts the interest to mostly 5-year-olds and may be mostly recommendable for this starting age range.

These 36 dolls belong to the Series 1 line. Since the line is named 1 it will probably lead to another set of dolls that will belong to Series 2. Whether this is true we shall see in the future because this toy was released in August 2018 so it’s pretty new. The line also contains 2 rare and 1 ultra-rare doll. Since each package is a surprise box you cannot be sure which doll you have purchased and what can happen is that sometimes you can end up with multiple duplicates although the idea behind every collectible toy is, of course, buying more and more dolls.

A good option for the duplicates is that you can join a Hairdorables Facebook and sell the duplicate so you can buy another Hairdorable Surprise Doll. Many of the customers also compare it with the L.O.L. Surprise dolls which at the moment seem to be very popular with the kids. Whether Hairdorables will become the hottest collectible dolls the time will tell since this product is relatively new on the market.

The dolls have their background stories. The main “girl” in this Series 1 is called Noah. All the accessories and the outfit are made to match her style which is about social media and she is in the role of a fun vlogger. Other dolls have also interesting and trendy, modern personalities and interests that are relevant to youngsters nowadays. All the other 11 dolls also have interesting short names such as Dee Dee, Bella, Kali, Skylar, Harmony, Sallee, Kat, Neila, Willow, Brit, and Rayne, and their interest vary from technology –coding, fashion, rollerblading, sports, space knowledge, traveling, animals, music to cooking, hairstyling, dancing, and drawing. All these interests and hobbies can be motivating for kids who can be inspired to learn something new because of these favorite dolls or maybe they can take up a new hobby based on the interest of their favorite doll.

The dolls have their own videos and launched their personal YouTube channel for Hairdorables which is great for the kids since they can meet the dolls and learn more about their personalities via these videos. Kids would love watching these since they are short, fun, colorful and easy to understand. One doll is fun but more dolls are even greater fun. Kids can use their imagination when creating different stories and pretend-play around the background stories and the videos of the Hairdorables. The videos are also great for vocabulary development since kids love repeating and imitating so in this way they can practice words they have heard or listened.
