You need spacy room for this fort

How it works

Kids love interactive toys. If we can bring interactive toys and interactive play outside of the computer games and screens and bring it inside our home especially on these rainy autumn days it would be even greater. Another thing that kids love too is building their imaginary homes, houses, towns. Very often your kids can occupy the whole living room or their room because they have decided to build a fort with chairs as their pretend walls, or pillows and of course some blankets. In building this kind of fort there is always a problem-it keeps falling apart-either pillows are too small or the blanket is not large enough to cover up so the result is the fort keeps falling down.

So, now you can have a solution to this problem. Crazy Forts have come up with an idea for all those young fans of building forts and compiled a set of plastic sticks and balls that gives the opportunity for many designs of kids’ imagination. You can customize the sticks as you like it and can invite your friends for a sleepover. Each time you can build a new type of house and we are sure parents will be surprised by kids’ ideas and creativity. Parents also love this construction toy because it motivates kids to play actively and use creative and imaginary play.

What’s in there?

What’s in there?

The Crazy Forts Construction toy is packed in a cardboard box and there is some confusion that comes with the packing box because on one of the boxes there is a sign that says new stronger fortified fort although customers who have bought the two sets claim that there is no difference between this one and the one that does not contain any sign.

However, everyone who sees these two types of packing will assume that there is an older and newer model although on first sight and later confirmed there are no detectable differences between the two sets. After the toy is removed from the box the box cannot be reused again for storage of the toy. This Construction toy comes with 69 solid plastic pieces that are actually comprised of 25 purple geometrically precise solid plastic balls and 44 green reinforced sticks. The bedsheet is not included in the set and this is a pity because it would be nice if the set contained by itself a cover or even a carry bag for later storage of the toy.
Assembly

Assembly

The assembly is pretty simple, besides lots of reviews that claim the opposite, you simply have to push and twist the stick into one of the many holes of the plastic ball although if you want to make sure that the fort is sturdy and stable you have to shove the sticks in very tightly or wrench it and then the sticks go in the hole for another few millimeters. It is important for the fort to be built strongly and that is why you have to make sure that there is a tight fit.

There are many holes on the ball so if you are wondering which one is the right one for the stick to be pushed each purple ball has some arrows that point to the top hole (arrows facing upwards) and it is recommended to have the Crazy Forts logo on the ball facing straight up. Each ball also has a letter inside and each letter allows the stick to be held at a different angle.

Lots of the complaints from customers who bought this fort referred to the instability of the sticks even after the fort was built and that they could not hold heavier blanket on the top of them but the manufacturer has clearly stated that this toy is intended to be used with bedsheets. After using this toy for once or twice it is much easier to understand how the process of construction goes and you will have no problems in reinventing other designs.
Age range

Age range

This product is designed and intended for children between the age of 5 and 9 years old. The starting age limit is because children should understand that this toy is not for climbing, leaning or jumping. Adults will definitely have to help in the process of assembling. The product comes in dimensions 16.8 x 3.2 x 10 inches and weighs only 3.7 pounds.

Depending on the form that is being built there is plenty of room for two kids and this toy is intended for a collaborative play and plus is great because it is gender-neutral. When you built your home it is quite roomy inside and many parents claim that if the crawl in the entryway they can fit in the main house. One thing worth mentioning here is that regardless of the kids’ age you still have to be cautious with this toy because of the sticks that can represent a danger for kids’ eyes.
Design

Design

The fort can be designed in a number of structures but always with the use of 25 balls and 44 poles or sticks. There are no boundaries with the designs although if you want to design some bigger and larger things besides the space that you are going to need you will probably also need more than one set of this construction toy. Since the cover is not provided within the set, you definitely can come up with different ideas about it.

You can use random fabrics that can be purchased at thrifts stores, play silks or scarfs or even curtains. Every house needs a décor and this house is no less. If it is summer period maybe you can engage your child to put some small flowers on the roof or in the upcoming Christmas period you can even decorate your structure with lights. The design is so simple but it offers so many possibilities of décor and plays that it is simply amazing.
Versatility of play

Versatility of play

If you are thinking about how to design your new fort you will find help in design ideas that besides the packing you can also find on https://crazyforts.com/. Basically, you can create almost everything that you can think of-maybe a cave or small castle, a pirate ship or spaceship. All the sticks with the help of the plastic balls can be assembled and reconfigured in many different shapes and forms.

With 69 pieces the child can design a house with a roof and entry that you can cover with a bedsheet and it will make a perfect home for reading books with night lights or just playing with the favorite toys. If your kids are in love with princes and princesses you can help him built a whole castle with a gate and turrets so you can role-play your kids’ favorite fairy tale in the castle.

Boys would love to build a rocket ship and play a pretend-play about going to space or those who like to play soldiers can build a meandering tunnel. So you can call your friends and start playing. The instruction lists one more structure that is the igloo with a dome shape and definitely, there are more than the ones mentioned on the web page or in the instruction because children’s creativity has no limits.
Stability

Stability

The sticks and the balls are made of plastic that can bend but once you have built the construction it is sturdy and stable. The sticks are flexible but they do not break. Kids definitely cannot assembly this construction toy but can always help by bringing the sheets and toys to be put inside the construction. What you need to understand about the stability of this toy is that you will have to use a twisting motion when you put the sticks in the holes.

Although there are many complaints that the toy is not stable enough after carefully reviewing we have come to the conclusion that stability is not an issue if you assembly the construction toy carefully and in a proper way, strictly following the instructions. If the stick is all the way down inside, the fort is sturdy and you can test its sturdiness by lifting the fort or tossing it and you will be assured that it does not fall apart. The sticks are hollow so there are not supposed to be load-bearing and kids should be aware of this so they should not climb over.
Durability

Durability

This is a durable product and what is interesting is that you can purchase also other sets and you and your child can build big forts to accommodate all the members of the family. Once you assemble the product it is easy enough and portable enough to move it to any room you like even you can take it outdoors if the weather is nice and play in it in the garden. As we said the poles are flexible although they do bend they do not break easily and the balls are really indestructible. If your child no longer wants to play with this construction toy it is simple to disassemble and store it in a box for the next design. This is a product that can last for years to come. The design is a high-quality design together with all the materials for lasting durability.
Social interaction

Social interaction

This toy is intended to promote interactive and creative play. Interactive because it asks for cooperation since the whole family can be included in the process of designing buildings and creative because you can spend quality time together as a family in inventing stories, settings or role-plays that can be performed in the Crazy Fort. Not only that it promotes quality time spent together with your family but since it is a gender-neutral toy it also promotes play between boys and girls who can form teams in order to build a castle or a rocket and start competing-who is faster or more creative.

The fun is even greater if you have purchased more than one set because with more than one set you can build really big forts and houses and by working cooperatively and together kids can do lots of creative things.
Price Range

Price Range

It is a great concept, very durable and portable. Kids can have a blast building together with parents and spending quality time with the family does not have a price. However, this construction toy, taking into consideration all the versatility that it offers has a decent price and is made with good quality for the price. Although, many of the customers who had purchased the product have a feeling that for this price there should be a larger number of pieces, still there is a general satisfaction from the price of the product.

Bottom line

Crazy Forts did a great job with the idea to replace the good all furniture and blankets over them and give us 69 pieces of spheres and poles that can be combined together to build structures with a different design. There are 25 balls and 44 sticks that can be combined in many ways and the final result is a great type of fort that just asks from the child to drape a blanket or bedsheet over the structure and the fun can begin.

The bed sheet or the blanket is not included in the construction toy. The provided instruction and the drawings on the packing can inspire you to get some ideas about the design of your favorite place. The assembly process is relatively simple and can be done if you follow the instructions carefully. Once the structure is ready the whole family can be involved in the play because this simple but yet innovative toy offers endless hours of pretend-play.

Mainly recommended for kids from 5 to 9 years old it is a perfect toy for the kids from this age period since they love acting imaginary stories or fairy tales or just building constructions that can last. Made by sturdy plastic that is flexible you should not worry about the stability of the structures that are made for exceptional playtime experience. This 69 piece construction set can be a great gift for the whole family, a boy or a girl and be sure that the parents will love it too because of the building nature so you and your child can grab a bed sheet, put it over the structure and start camping in the middle of the room.
