How it works
The 2018 UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller makes transporting your child easy. The stroller comes with all the necessary accessories that help when you are a new parent or seasoned parenting professional. The makers of the stroller have taken into account all the needs of your child both according to safety and comfort, and they have added in the needs of the parent as well in developing the stroller to give parents what they need while they are on the go with their child. There are several accessories that are found on all UPPAbaby strollers and the small conveniences and one-handed maneuvers that are capable with the stroller make having the stroller a big convenience.
The body of the 2018 UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller is made entirely of aluminum and magnesium, which makes the stroller extremely light for its size. The sleekness of the frame allows for a streamlined look for the stroller.
The toddler seat can be positioned either facing front or parent facing depending on your needs and the needs of your child. Either way that the seat is facing, the seat reclines to a full 180 degree flat position. The toddler seat also comes with an adjustable footrest that can be adjusted to the length of your child’s legs.
The canopy of the toddler seat can be extended to cover your child from the elements of the weather and there is a hidden canopy extender that gives additional coverage to your child when the sun’s rays are low in the sky and beating onto the stroller at a more direct angle.
Under the toddler seat is the storage basket that has three pockets that secure items and a fully open basket that can hold up to 30lbs.
Finally, the stroller has polyurethane plastic wheels that allow for the stroller to be even more lightweight than it already is. The wheels are also shock absorbing and are connected to a suspension that gives your child a smooth ride while they are being pushed.
Around the toddler seat is a belly bar. The belly bar is a place for your child to rest their hands and arms while they are strapped into the seat. The belly bar is extra protection for your child so that they are more secure in the seat. The bar also acts like a handlebar for your child so they have something to hold onto while they are being pushed. It gives them more support and helps them sit stable while they are riding in the stroller.
The Toddler Seat
The toddler seat is also fully reclinable. To make the seat go flat, there is a button on the back of the seat that you can press with one hand that will make the seat begin to recline in a few different angles until it goes flat. The flat position is great for kids who are napping or newborn and need the extra comfort.
Sold separately, you can buy an insert for your toddler seat that is made for infants to give them extra cushioning and less space while they are in the seat so that you can adjust the harness accordingly for their safety.
There is also a footrest on the seat that has three positions. One position puts the footrest completely folded up underneath the seat so that it is completely out of the way, the second has it at a forty-five degree angle so your toddler can rest their legs and feet comfortably, and the final position puts the footrest completely out at a 180 degree angle so when your child is lying flat they can put their legs out and have room to stretch and move.
The canopy also has a peek-a-boo window that gives you full access to seeing your child when they are forward facing. The window is secured by magnets, which makes opening and closing the window super quiet so that you don’t make noise or wake up your child if they are sleeping. Most peek-a-boo windows are secured with velcro, which makes a harsh sound that may disrupt your baby’s sleep.
Another feature of the canopy is the UV extender that is tucked into the underside of the canopy. If the sun’s rays are at a direct angle and they are bothering your child, you can pop out the hidden extender and give your child even more coverage in the event of strong sun rays, wind, or inclement weather.
If the weather is totally wild, the 2018 UPPAbaby Cruz Stroller comes with a rain shield and a bug shield that you can drape over the canopy and over the entire stroller to keep the weather off of your child as well as keeping bugs out of the stroller that could potentially bite or sting them.
The Storage Bin
The rest of the storage basket is large enough to hold a diaper bag, laptop computer, light jackets, other toys and foods, or anything else that you may need as well as anything else that your child may need.
Do not put anything more than 30lbs into the basket as the extra weight may cause the basket to scrape the ground, which will tear up the bottom of the basket and may also damage anything that you have placed in the basket.
Folding Up the Stroller
To reopen the stroller, there is a silver “trigger” that you pull on the stroller frame and the stroller will open on its own back to its full position. You can then place your child in the seat, load up the storage area, and go.
